Picked this up at one of the best beer stores ever, Bierhalle Deconinck. Yet another gusher beer from White Pony??? Not sure what is causing this, but it's getting old quickly. Murky mahogany pour with a two finger beige head with little retention and minimal lacing. The nose is malt forward with lots of molasses and brown sugar along with hints of dark fruit, toffee, subtle vanilla, and booze. The taste is rich and malty with a nice vinous character along with hints of vanilla, molasses, butterscotch, dark fruits, brown sugar, tobacco, and oak. The mouthfeel is slightly thick and chewy with medium carbonation, nice balance, and a warming and subtly boozey finish. Overall, this was a big flavorful beer with great drinkability, especially considering the 11.5% ABV. But they really need to address the gushing...
