Picked this up at one of the best beer stores ever, Bierhalle Deconinck. Hazy amber-orange pour with a quickly fading one finger white head with decent lacing. The nose is pretty one-dimensional and is dominated by the booze. Getting some subtle caramel and oak, but totally overpowered by the alcohol. The taste follows suite with the booze being king, but to a much lesser extent. Hints of caramel, vanilla, oak, cognac, and brown sugar manage to emerge from under the boozey dominance. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly syrupy with medium carbonation and a subtle warming finish. Overall, this was a boozey mess. Little to no balance and the subtleties of the brandy and cognac barrels were lost amongst the booze.
