Copenhagen 23/12-2018. 33 cl bottle from Den Gamle KĂžbmand. A pictogram of Heartfelt Handshake on the label.

Pours hazy golden yellow with small white head. Clumps of yeast whirling around. Settles as a 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is sweet, fruity and a bit candy-like. Dark fermented fruit, sugar, hard candy and a light presence of alcohol.

Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily texture.

Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a lighter spicy bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter-ish with a prominent sweet undertone. Lingers for a while.

A bit too sweet for my taste buds but it's well made and the sweetness suits the theme of the beer and Christmas-season as well.

In the 2023 beer advent calendar.

A Belgian brewed beer for an Italian distributor/ brewer.
Whatever-- it works. It's a complex taste but with strong Belgian influences, which only makes sense.
Well worth looking for.

Can: Poured an orangey color ale with a light foamy head with minimal retention and light lacing. Aroma of malt with light ester and some unrefined notes. Taste is also a mix of cereal with light unrefined notes with some ester and residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. OK Belgian ale but malt bill could be cleaner with more attenuation.

330 ml bottle

Appearance: pale amber coloured, white fluffy foam.

Smell: spices, coriander, yeast, peach.

Taste: classic malts, soft spicy, flower tones, some fruits, balanced final, peach, intense, belgian ale in the malt side.

Mouthfeel: noticeable medium body for a belgian ale. more drinkable, well made.

Better a bit cold. Looking forward for another one!
