OJ is a well-balanced wheat pale with a smooth citrus flavor. With less bitterness than is typical for this type of beer, this is the perfect “entry-level” IPA.

this is my first beer from these guys and i like it a lot, its hazy but not milky or thick, and has an orange hue to it, not quite orange juice color, but i can see it. it has a great hop profile, both in nose and flavor, super fresh, i would guess citra driven, but there is a ton of it, more intense than it usually is, and i think in conjunction with some others as well, very very juicy, i get where the name comes from, not a gimmick, no fruit added from what i can tell, all hops but really well channeled into this orange juice thing. not just orange essence here though, i get a little bright lemon zestiness, some pineapple juice tropicality, and some honey sort of sweetness, i think from the wheat malt in this, really well built with plenty of body to support the hops, and a surprising lack of bitterness for an ipa type. i had quite a lot of hazy ipa types from iowa while i was there, it seems this trend has infiltrated just about every beer market in the country by now, and this was one of the very best of them. excellent stuff overall, if of course you like this sort of thing...

Poured a hazy orange with one finger of white head. Head retention is good with good lacing left behind. Aroma is orange and clementine, keeping it short and sweet. Flavor profile develops a little more citrus, with orange, clementine, and papaya. Mouth feel is medium-thick, with a smooth feel that only develops a slight fizz on the back of the tongue. Overall, a solid, citrus sipper. Not overly complex or dripping with citrus notes - just a quick dose of vitamin c (without the vitamin c).

Had at Short's in IC. smooth, juicy hops. lighter than would have liked, but for a hazy brew, really good at 5% abv. Could have been more bitter, however for what it was as a 'pale wheat' it was excellent. this beer is a great first showing for me from 515, would love to go check out the taproom and try some more of their ipas!

I really enjoyed this. Very tropical with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Everything is really balanced, not much bitterness to overpower the other hop favors, not just tropical, there was also some pine and herbal notes. It went great with my wings at el bait shop.

Picked up a 32oz growler when swinging through town on business.
Appearance: Cloudy orange, good head.
Smell: Nice sweet orange aroma.
Taste: Lots of oranges, moderately sweet, full bodied, wheaty finish.
Overall: I visited 515 a year or two ago and was impressed. So when I was driving through Des Moines for work I picked up a cooler and grabbed some growlers to go. OJ IPA is a solid, hazy IPA where you definitely taste the wheat base. I don't think this is quite in the Vermont-style IPA category (but I've never had one) but it is a different take on the IPA. Very good!
