32 ounce crowler, fill date of 10/12 written on the label. Maybe a few days after the recommended drink by date (says drink within 2 weeks) but it should still be good. Thanks to my buddy Denis for getting this for me on a recent trip to Iowa! Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with a couple inch frothy tan head that stayed around for a long time. There's also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like toasted malt, nuts, cocoa and coconut. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark chocolate and vanilla. Reminds me of a Mounds chocolate bar, but not quite as sweet tasting. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's easy to drink and is well carbonated. I thought this was an enjoyable enough brew, maybe one day I'll get to try it at the source!
