Completely black in color, yielding a decent beige, froth head with only small, long lasting bubbles.
Loaded with outstanding fruity, tropical aromas of, papaya, blood orange, nectarine and grass, carried by earthy malts, which got a hint of unsweetened chocolate to it.
While it uses 3/4th of the Imperial IPA hop bill, taste developes completely different. Starts with chewy, ripe fruits, identical to the nose but with a well developing honey component, rising from the bready malts, which at first I misconsidered being a hop flavor, because it is that well integrated. This sweetness increases and gets joined by a smooth milk chocolate note. While the fruits remain very present on the front on the tongue, they get accompanied by a lemony bitterness, which then blends into a strong flavor of roasted coffee. This flavor rollercoster won’t get out of balance at all, while it finishes very dry, after a short impact of syrupy toffee, revealing its 90 IBUs, leaving back a fruity bitterness, as well as toasted malts.
