Pours a slightly cloudy, deep, dark amber coloration with a small, foamy head. Smell is a little subdued, but with some nice aromas of caramel malt and resinous, citrus and slightly tropical hops. Taste is a nice balance of strong, sweet'ish caramel malt and equally strong, bitter, resinous hops with notes of grapefruit, pineapple and pine. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some pine resin lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
A very nice East Coast IPA with quite a malty and resinous, bitter character as well as some citrus/tropical fruit notes and a strong, piney bitterness.

Hazy orange color with white head. I can tell by the aroma that this is an old bottle. Indeed, it's a few months old. Stale hops, tea and some medicinal alcohol. Taste follows with old hops and harsh bitterness. Body is medium-light and has a crisp carbonation. It's old indeed but I had other IPAs that tasted much better at the same age. Overall it's still a drinkable beer. I will re-review it if I can get it fresher.

Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Hazy orange-amber pour with a one finger foamy white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is floral and herbal and very unique with hints of pine, grass, caramel, subtle tangerine, and a touch of lime as well. The taste mirrors the nose with that crazy hint of lime emerging even more and fighting the huge pine notes for supremacy. Hints of caramel, grass, lemon zest, and grapefruit round it out perfectly. The mouthfeel is light bodied with fizzy carbonation and a great tangy hop bite on the finish. Overall, brewer Fritz Wülfing is still the king of IPA's here in Germany. I met Fritz early on in his brewing career and he was way ahead of everyone else in Germany from the start. This is an awesome and unique IPA that I highly recommend!

Pours a clear amber-orange color, with a decent, stable head.
The room is filled with grassy hops, after opening the bottle. Provides a generous dankness, grass, lime and pine, while the aromas don't turn herbal, instead the beer provided a good amount of orange and pineapple. So far the most resinous german IPA I experienced, very convincing on the nose.
Has a fitting medium carbonation and an almost medium-bodied character.
Begins right away with grassy, lime infused hops among bready malts. Hops become more complex, as exotic fruits get visible with orange, papaya and lemon peel. The hops unfold an imense bitterness on the palate, gently supported by the carbonation, resulting in a refreshing IPA with a very convincing depth. During its finish, the beer reveals its fruity qualities among the still noteable pine and grass, just before an irresistable dryness numbes the tongue.
Fritz follows the US east coast style in this one, and he succeds, by turning the hoppiness in an uncompromising dank and bitter direction, while the malts only provide a neccesary balance and the hops revealing a great diversity.
