Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of light doughy malt and sweet and tart guava notes. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of light doughy malt and sweet and tart guava notes, with a certain, slightly zesty tangerine note also coming through. Finishes with a light tartness and some guava lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation.
While I wouldn't call this a Pastry Sour exactly, or at all for that matter, it does make for a really nice Fruited Kettle Sour that's quite easy-drinking and refreshing, with a good, slightly tangy guava presence and some zesty tangerine accents, as well as good balance of equally light sweet and tart notes, while the lactose thankfully is hardly noticeable here. While it may be a bit light-bodied, this still makes for a great summer beer, meaning that fits the freaky temperatures we're currently getting in February perfectly...
