On tap at the brewery in a nonic glass. Reviewed from notes dated May 22, 2016.
A-My beer arrives with a short, white head. Retention is not great, but there is a bit of lace on the glass as I drink. The beer is quite hazy, almost murky, and orange-golden in color.
S-This thing smells pretty good. Citrus notes of orange and lemon are almost tart and juicy. I also sniff some lychee and peach flavors. There is just a hint of honey sweetness to balance things out. Impressive aroma for a session IPA, actually.
T-The taste falls off a bit from the aroma, but this beer still does a decent imitation of a full-ABV IPA. I taste citrus and stone fruit with a little hit of peppery spice. There is a bit of sweetness to balance the hops and provide some body.
M-The feel is slightly wet and strangely chewy. It almost tastes like it was on cask.
O-This is a pretty good session IPA. The odd mouthfeel actually gave the beer some body, which most session IPAs lack. I'm not a huge fan of session IPAs in general, but I would drink this again anytime I was looking for a low-ABV hoppy option. Too bad it is in Madrid and I live in Denver.
