my first beer from these guys is a real nice introduction, obviously a capable brewery and all. this is a neat marriage of styles in a number of ways, the hops are bright in here, fresh and green, but also real poppy and forward, and while the yeast is somewhat generic to me on this, the proportions are perfect, and right as soon as i get sick of tasting the hops, the yeast comes in, and when i fatigue of that, its back to citra hops, a nice cyclical thing that keeps on giving. looks less light than it drinks by a little bit, esters abound, green apple and pear from the yeast, white pineapple candy, and green grape. the belgian part is just right, not too much and not too little, it doesnt dominate but its there from beginning to end. the hops are real fresh on this, quite obviously citra, and there is a real unforced and natural balance going on, bitter only for a second, but complex even without that. a cool beer, drinkable, even sessionable and refreshing as the yeast forward styles go, makes me want to get in to peddler and drink a few of their brews. solid all the way around, better than most in a style that can sometimes be generic. i liked this a lot.
