Brewed with a heavy dose of Flaked Oats to give this classic Stout a comfortingly smooth body, with a rich malt sweetness balanced by the dry bitterness of Roasted Barley. Full bodied with delicious notes of chocolate and roast.

The pour is stout black with a just tall enough light brown head to reach the top of my imperial pint glass. The lacing is some of the best I've seen, absolute sheets remain on the sides of the glass well after finishing the drink.
The taste is excellent as well; deep malts, toasted raisin bread, chocolate and toffee, french roast coffee, and just a hint of hops at the swallow.
The feel is not bad, just expected a bit more body from the oatmeal. Still a soft and creamy feel, just doesn't have the body to back it up. But that's a tiny quibble for an otherwise outstanding stout.
OA, see above. It's outstanding. If they could figure out how to add some body to it, it would be even better.

Deepest of dark brown, quiet and silky looking pour; vigorous pour yielded a beautiful sustained head with over the top lacing, beautiful light brown; creamy and frothy.
Nose is full of ash and roast, some cacao nibs with acidic fruit leaning coffee and burnt toast.
Huge full flavor to this beer: all the above with a noticeable oat quality; so much rich bittersweet chocolate just oozing with deep roast character, again some acidic red hued fruit character; a bit tannin like, with earthy wet hop notes.
Medium body, it is full, leaning chewy but so smoothed out by the oats; lower carbonation enhances that luscious creamy feel, firm moderate burnt bitter bite that lingers so nicely.

Pours a clear, dark brown color, dark and opaque in the glass; thick, long-lasting head, khaki, dense and creamy structure. Very fine roasted and charred grain aroma; hint of toffee. The taste builds on the smell with the addition a bold grain char bitterness; mild chocolate notes. Smooth and heavy mouthfeel; soft and velvety.
A simple, well-crafted stout is a joy to drink. I'm really enjoying this one.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Black colored body with a mahogany colored back lit edge. Two fingers of tan colored head, which settles back to a full cap. Leaves behind some spots and splotches of lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, with a chocolate smell.
Taste is dark roasted malts approaching a char edge, sweetness from the oat malt. Flavors of chocolate and a little vanilla. Hint of floral hops. Mellows in the aftertaste, loses the char edge, and gets a sweeter chocolate note.
More than medium mouthfeel. Soft and smooth, nearly creamy texture from the oats. Bitterness comes from the dark roasted malts, with a little tongue numbing. Very good carbonation.
Well balanced between the dark roast char and the malt sweetness. Satisfying stout with the basic ingredients.

This is a really nice, no frills stout. Satisfyingly dry overall with lots of roast character, very dark chocolate, and something almost mineral-y in the background. Dang good overall, thanks Ryan!

Undated bottle, but likely fresh from the place where we got it. A very well crafted stout, no gimmicks, no barrel aging, just a plain good stout. Do let it warm to cellar temperature.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a wispy patch head and light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt with a touch of biscuit, chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Flavor follows with biscuity dark toasted malt with slight char, cocoa and milk chocolate and a little vanilla. Light, but lingering chocolate and vanilla finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A well flavored, but somewhat subdued oatmeal stout that tastes authentic. A little light in flavor for an oatmeal stout, but satisfactorily pleasant with hints of char and good chocolate notes. Body slightly more robust from the oatmeal. A nice cask style English stout.

Dark brown appearance with nice tan head that disipates quickly. Aroma is very mild. Taste is very watery with some malt but not much flavor. I think they can do better.
