500ml bottle from Roth's West Salem market .
$5.99
Says Eighth Anniversary Beer and 4.9%..assuming this is the same as listed!
Pours a beautiful full black with a nice creamy tan head.
Aromas mainly of semi dark chocolate, toasted bread, slight brine and light coffee.
Taste even better..the chocolate taste is well into the dark chocolate territory and the malts very toasted.Slight brine/sea salt mainly in the end. I suppose from the oyster shells..its well constructed.
Lovely smooth bottle conditioned mouth feel. Very very drinkable.
I really "got" this beer in a big way. Delicious.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to a patches and slight lacing. Aroma of lightly toasted and dark biscuit malt, cocoa and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is lightly toasted dark malt, cocoa and a mild brininess, which is slightly salty at first, but leaves a mild tart flavor in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess and moderate carbonation in tune with the cask ales that Machine House is known for. A mild, but traditional flavored English stout with clear briny notes from the oysters, although no actual oyster flavors. This is a light stout and the malt is just enough to support the mild brine component. A little more malt depth would be nice to balance the oyster contribution. Like most offerings from this brewery, tastes authentic and traditionally brewed.

On cask at Horse Brass last night.
Black with a dark brown head with great retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is a good blend of roasted grain, particularly robust given the lower ABV, with nice chocolate and mild chicory notes. The palate is creamy with a hint of salty briny notes. Nice chocolate and cocoa notes with a good blend of bitterness and roasted malt notes. Creamy on the palate, this beer is softly carbonated and has a nice finish. Very nice stuff.
