This easy drinking yet supremely juicy beer was brewed with Maris Otter from Baird’s new 1823 Heritage range, and fresh Simcoe hops from Yakima Valley.

I had this beer on cask in a mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: dark golden hue with a moderate-to-light haze and a huge two-finger head of compact ivory foam with lots of retention and chunky lace. You can't beat cask beer for a big, foamy head and great look!
Smell: sweet, grassy, earthy and a little bright, the fresh hops really jump out in the aroma. It's quite good.
Taste: grassy, green, earthy, and toasty, with a very fresh hop character indeed. I'm actually surprised with just how earthy it is; the flavor is not as bright as the aroma, but it's pretty faithful to the fresh hop flavor.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a low carbonation but a nicely smooth creaminess. The cask hard at work.
Overall: this is an interesting fresh hop beer; I like the execution, but I admit I'm unlikely to order a second.
