Clear russet color with long-lasting foam in the Hopleaf goblet. Lovely pile of mustache sticking froth, and light and tangy on the tongue. Green aroma that makes me think of tea. Tastes like a fresh hop brew, with the fuzzy and green taste. Light bitter finish and more black tea in the aftertaste. Quite a pleasant quaff with the restrained hoppy bite and lush carbonation. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the Community Coop in Mount Vernon. No apparent date, but this one is back for 2024.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium go dark bronze amber with a two finger aged ivory head with great retention and thick lacing, looks great. Aroma of biscuit malt, grassy hops, graham cracker; woody and earthy. Flavor is biscuit malt, crackers, rye bread and wood. Woody, biscuity finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. What a rare opportunity to try a single hop, English style ale using one of the older and famed hop varieties. By itself, it has a surprising amount of earthiness and woodiness, like a forest after the rain. It is great to see how Fuggles fits into the classic English bitter flavor. Surprisingly full of flavor and well balanced for its 3.9 ABV, one of the lightest beers I've had in a while, but still with fine presence. I let this warm up to room temperature to bring myself back a few decades to a classic pub experience, if perhaps more hop forward. Machine House really delivers the English style ales. This looked fantastic in the glass, as well.
