Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, medium golden orange with a quarter finger white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit and light mixed tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine and fleeting mixed tropical fruit. Flavor dominated by lemon and grapefruit rind in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A refreshing, quite lemony pale ale. Hops are Cascade and Victoria (I think known as Vic's Secret here in the Northwest) and both are citrus hops, and it show here. The first taste was novel, very lemon drop oriented, then grapefruit develops with other faint fruit notes. The finish at first is a bit stark and grapefruit rind forward, but I have to say the flavor profile grew on me and after a few sips I enjoyed the flavor transitions and finish. Nice citrus rind bitterness in the finish. A bit different and more North American pale ale than a lot of others from this brewery, which leans to English malts and flavors. The lemon in this one is very authentic as a good as any of the "lemon drop" IPAs I've had. Nicely done.
