Our modern interpretation of an English-style IPA. Brewed with a nice malty base, and we'll-hopped with a combination of carefully selected hops from Britain, Europe, and USA.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date on the can.
Appearance: nice pale amber hue with a dash of haze and a finger of frothy light-tan foam atop.
Smell: moderately sweet with a kind of toasty, crackery malt. Hops are slightly earthy and rather citrusy, with an emphasis on lemon-like aromas. Not too bad!
Taste: bready and toasty malt, along with those earthy, lemony, perhaps slightly herbal hops. Bitterness is moderate, but relatively well balanced with the malt. Reminds me of a bitter or an English pale ale, which I guess makes a lot of sense.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I find this beer quite drinkable. I don’t think I’d pick it first in a lineup of IPAs, but if this is my option then I’d definitely have a couple.

This has an unfiltered dark amber look to it, with abundant foam in the goblet. Woody and nutty flavors with a musty finish, though not unpleasant. The aftertaste is weirdly bitter, like no English IPA on earth. It's an earthy, stewed hop taste, like over-brewed tea. This starts on the tongue so promisingly, with lush carbonation and a malty taste, but unfortunately followed by the astringency and harshness of some bitter herb. Undrinkable. From the 16 oz can purchased at the local Co-op market. Not dated.
