Poured into a Samuel Smith pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium to dark coppery amber with a half finger white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of grainy biscuit malt, mild grassy hops, cracker, lemon and apple. Flavor is husky biscuit malt, grassy hops, mixed citrus, dry crackers; a little grapefruit developing into the finish with a solid citrus rind bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. An interesting domestic take on the English pale ale style, with a more assertive hops with a North American flavor of citrus over grassy hay. Definitely more bitter than most ales of this style I've had. Interesting, very dry biscuit / crackery malt. Shows its British origins, but brighter, more assertive hops. Great flavor depth for the ABV.
