Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a three finger white head with good retention and chunky lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, grapefruit, lemon, mixed light tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and fruit hops, lemon, grapefruit, green grapes and light mixed tropical fruit; assertive citrus rind bitterness in the finish with a touch of pine resin. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite fresh tasting IPA exhibiting the promised Nelson Sauvin profile, but also some NW character of citrus and light pine. A very nice tasting hop bill with nice supporting hops, great bitterness and a fined finish. I expected this to have a somewhat biscuity malt because of Machine House's English bent, but this has a domestic pale malt character. The hops are bright, almost tasting like a fresh hop. Nicely done. While I hope Machine House mostly sticks with its excellent English style ales, this is a welcome addition to their offerings.
