Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on July 17, 2019. Made with honey. Look is light amber with a thick foamy head. The honey balances out some of the hop bitterness.

Peach...smell and taste. Dark amber color. Looks more malty than it tastes. Fruity, tropical, high apv. Overall, a mood beer. But as the occasion arises bring this one.

16oz can, no apparent freshness date. Thanks to Ken for giving me a can to try. Amber colored ale is capped by a thick and frothy off-white head. Muted aroma: maybe zesty citrus and pine. Much more flavorful with sweet honey coupled with grapefruit zest, mango, pine, apple juice. Full body, modest carbonation, and a bittersweet bakanced finish. Overall, I thought this was good but not great and the lack of aroma was a big disappointment.

I was very excited to try beers from this Indiana brewery that was highly lauded. Although this one didn’t quite live up to my very high expectations, it was nonetheless an excellent imperial IPA with great flavors and depth. Pours a slightly darker honeyed yellow-orange color with lots of fluffy white head and some nice looking spotty lingering lacing. Smells really great, nice aromas of grapefruit, lemon, mango, tangerine and pineapple fruity hops. There’s also some malt, floral and herbal hops, bread and vanilla in the background. Taste follows the nose, and I can detect a small amount of sweetened honey in the finish. It was a well-balanced beer without any cloying sweetness. Smooth, mild, slightly sticky mouthfeel with good carbonation. Very enjoyable and the high ABV was quite well hidden.
