Appearance: Cloudy golden, this “spiced white stout” poured into a draft pint glass at the fine Gerst Haus in Evansville, IN. Seems this was a collab with Beer Geeks and combined cocoa nibs, star anise, cinnamon, clove, Dark Matter coffee and Madagascar vanilla beans. I didn’t know all that so review reflects my true “blind” tasting.
Aroma: Spices, holiday-like somehow.
Taste: Spices again, tasting like a unique Wintertime ale, with not a lot of “roast” for a porter. A tasty beer, but somehow perplexing. Unique and definitely not disappointing.
