Received in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and a little halo.

S - Aromas of maple cream candies, almost dirty gas station coffee. Flashes of maple cream. Rather muted.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with even more maple forward which is pleasant, the coffee is still muted gas station. Finish is lightly sweet with decent lactose.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, alcohol is hidden nicely. Little creamy.

O - Overall this was a solid enough milk stout, nice maple on the taste and they mouthfeel is good and creamy

Thanks to rudzud
Nice creamy foamy head fades fairly quickly, little lacing

Nose tons of maple candy, little herbal earthy maple tree, dirty coffee old stale like, maple and Irish cream notes

Taste thick lush creamy, lactose like notes, more maple but decent maple, maple creams, mild roasted coffee grounds, mild cocoa, little marshmallow, little cappuccino, mild bitterness

Mouth is med to fuller bod creamy lush, mild alcohol and mild carb

Overall not bad, maple was decent on taste but bad on nose, rest of the beer was decent too

Had on tap. Wow really impressed with this one. So smooth, creamy and warm in the feel. The taste really melds the maple, baker's chocolate, and coffee together, with none taking lead over the other. Each sip is rewarding. Smell is more coffee and maple forward, but very aromatic. Sweet as the style dictates, but not cloying or artificial. Nice bitter and sweet notes contrasting.

In an Austin Beerworks Teku

L - Pours black with a 2 finger cocoa brown head that dissipates quickly. No visible light through the glass.

S - Dark chocolate, coffee, and syrupy pancake breakfast with a warming boozy finish.

T - Dark malts make way to a thick curtain of maple syrup that yields to something unexpected. Blueberry? Plum? Something fruity I can't quite name. On the backend you'll find fleeting notes of toffee with a second wave of maple that lingers on the tongue.

F - Thin for the style, with light carbonation.

O - Enjoyable. I would certainly buy it again, but not as good as it's peers. Compares to other variants I would rank this above everything except Vanilla.

Had on tap at Beermiscuous in Highwood. High quality craftsmanship was evident front to back. Both maple and coffee were highly evident, almost to the point of becoming cloying (but not). Mouthfeel was full-bodied and just south of syrupy. This was my first foray into 18th Street territory, and they acquitted themselves admirably.

10/26/18 (Gary, IN): $5 13 oz. draft pour in brewery Hunter glass at Gary Brewery. Black pour, razor thin tan head. Strong chocolate and coffee aroma, faint maple. Very strong coffee taste, maple taste much stronger than aroma would indicate, milk flavor and texture. Nicely blended, not too sweet. Very creamy mouth feel, fizzy light carbonation, very smooth drinking. Nice desert offering, Overall excellent pour.

Appearance - The beer poured a brownish black color with dark mocha colored bubbles crowning the glass.

Smell - The sweetness of the maple overlaps the coffee in the nose. Both are fairly strong.

Taste - The beer has a nice coffee profile, with maple sweetness to parallel. The sweetness is well balanced and not overly cloying. A little more coffee bitterness rounds out the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - The sweetness browns out that typically smooth mouth feel of Hunter.

Overall - Welcome back Hunter! I want more variants.
