Copenhagen 31/5 2019. 47,3 cl can from Mikkeller Web-shop. White can with drawings of Crowns, beer glasses, hop flowers, Corn ears, Foxes and Lions. All very English for this English Style Brown Ale.
Pours unclear dark brown with a red hue. Big off-white head. Bubbly. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Very moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense, sweet and nutty. Brown sugar, caramel, toffee. Bready and malty. Hints of nuts. Sourish fruity bitterness rummaging in the background.
Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, lively, oily texture.
Flavor is intense and medium sweet. Followed by a more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a while.
Nicely balanced but very much on the sweet side. But with more hops than I would expect in an English Style Brown Ale after all. But I won't complain.
