The color is not anything like black; it's more of a dark amber. Modest foam with lacing in the tumbler. Pleasantly beery and carbonated in the mouth, and a surprisingly light body. I am not tasting much alcohol but I am finding my brain floating so there are right on the ABV.
Flavor is a little disconcerting with some elements of a dark IPA but also an Old Ale. Fruity and resiny, not always the best combination. A little mucky grapefruit taste, then the bitter aftertaste, From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Wilbur's Total Beverage in Fort Collins.
