500ml bottle thanks to Matt. Light golden with pink hue, soft bubbly head. Sour aroma, pretty tart, woody tomes. Taste is mostly sour, fruity flavors underneath. Lighter in weight , but packs a pucker.

I had this on draft 3/2/23 @ the Beer Temple.
Semi-opaque orange appearance.
Small white head; decent lace.
Peach, tart lemon & artisan soap notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Tree bark, peach & fresh soap flavors.
Unique & very tasty. I'd have another!!

On draft. Poured a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left thin traces of lace on the glass. It smelled of tart cherry, lemon and other stone fruits. Nice tart lemon taste with some green apple notes. Sweet caramel is mild.

Had on tap. Stunned by this rating, because this beer is a light to the nations. Gueuze like orange cloudy body with a finger of fluffy white foam. The smell obviously has hickory wood which is savory and musty, but also emits orange, lemon, peach, soil, caramel, wet mulch, smoke, lacto, and fall leaves. Taste is stupidly well balanced yet complex, with plenty of robust and rustic wood but has plenty of citrus, slight lacto, with more fall forest flavors to balance well, plus a finish with some sweet pine resin and sour hickory. Brighter than expected given the smell, but that is a credit to the flavors. Feel is artful with the souring, wood, earthy and botanical elements, and the bright malt work.

Having this with a fine summer dinner of farm fresh corn, tomatoes, and cucumber in Pennsylvania.
Very nice sour ale. The funky sour dominates up front with a mellowin hickory flavor at the back end. Woodsy earthy, spicy. Effervescent and refreshing. Very nice and great for a happy meal!

The Hickory components added with his beer have really done it well it is fairly masterfully created. Seem to have a bit more tartness the most scratch beers have tried the aroma is really amazing. Has always another great beer from scratch they have never disappointed me

My first Scratch that I’ve really liked (maybe the 2nd or 3rd I’ve tried) and it’s really good! A nice color and attractive beer with the pour. I like the slight prickly carbonation. Tart with a unique hickory finish on the end. It works very well! Definitely worth picking up again although expensive for a 500ml bottle.

Unique bottle info: 5.8% ABV (unlike the listed 6.6% for this listing); back panel label info: "Bottle-conditioned sour ale brewed without hops. Bittered and flavored with hicory leaves, nuts, hulls and bark harvested from our property and fermented with our wild mixed house culture."
Ruddy, brownish-orange body topped off with a thin yet creamy head. Earthy, woody, sour aroma; some deeply hidden roasted grain notes; equally buried notes of brown sugar; aged peaches. Rich sweet and tart flavor, similar in tone to the aroma. Heavy body; starts with an earthy sweetness that quickly switches to a tart, acidic mouthfeel.
This is a most interesting wild sour that benefits from the use of hickory tree components. The beer is most definitely a sour overall but there is a very distinct quality that must come from the use of hickory leaves, nuts, bark, etc. A strange yet remarkable marriage of ingredients that works quite well together.
