Dark brown with a pleasant, creamy colored haze around the glass. Smells like fresh-cut, live cedar wood. Intense spice and earth on the aroma and flavor. Smooth, tonic-like texture with just a hint of acetic acid. Finishes on a dry note with plenty of woody texture on the tongue. Noticed many sub-par ratings on another site stating the flavors were too intense. Be forewarned, if you're not into strong organic, green wood flavors, this beer may not be for you. However, this is exactly why I love Scratch Brewing. They are bold, original, willing to experiment, and unafraid to challenge their customers palates. Exceptional brew all around.

Draft and howler from the brewery.
Dark brownish black, tan foam, drippy lace.
Funky wild aroma, forest floor, wet leather, dried cherry.
Bakers chocolate, dried dark fruit, cedar wood smoke.
Tart and light bodied, very complex and woody.
Dry finish with wood smoke and bakers chocolate in the aftertaste.
Amazing complexity, it's more of a rustic stout through a wild ale filter.
Elements of English stout, oud bruin, and dark sour ales. Recommended.
