This was a recent highlight on a trip to the brewery. A little early in the season, but if the cones are ready, they're ready. I can fully appreciate that. Brewed with their farm grown Chinook and local malts.
Pours a deep saturated sunshine orange, puffy cap of foam that left behind some spotty lacing around the edges and a lasting surface skim.
Light but resiny hop aroma that intensified as it warmed. Greenery and ripe fruit, hints of melon and cantaloupe.
Flavors are more fruit forward, big juicy cantaloupe note leads off, supported by a firm resiny hop bitterness and smooth malt base. This is more hoppy than most commercial wet hop beers, and almost dank in it's flavorful fruitiness. Light to medium bodied, easygoing carb level, pillowy smooth. Overall this is one of the better wet hop beers i've tried, and the perfect prototype for our homebrew version. Guess I need to start growing some Chinooks...
