Draft at Beer Temple on opening day. Served in a mini-nonic. Cheers to the Beer Temple crew!
Dark chestnut brown, lasting foam and lace, spotty around the edges with great surface coverage. Aroma is very unique, the aged nocino syrup gives off notes of nuts and clove, while the yeast lends a mild funk note.
Taste is nutty and malty with a light tartness, the brown ale base has become somewhat wild in nature. Walnut meat and nutmeg, minor clove notes. Light to medium bodied, effervescent with a clean finish. Interesting stuff, Scratch rarely disappoints, and this is yet another unique ale from them.
