in a lot of ways the least compelling of the recent scratch beers, or rather, the one where the special ingredients come through the least to me, where the end result of this saison type isnt as distinctive as it sounds like it should be, which is not to say it isnt excellent beer, it most certainly is, just that its not as evolved and weird as a lot of their stuff, which is a huge part of the pull for me. i wish i knew more about the specific ingredients in this beer, but it tastes simple, earthy, and organic. the nuts and seeds do not appear to me to be toasted or anything, but in their natural state, giving this blonde beer a lightly woody and floral component, smells like autumn, but i dont taste say sunflower seeds or walnuts or anything in particular as i thought i might. i like the lightly funky but clean finishing yeast and the active carbonation. its easy drinking and is subtle complex i suppose, more so as it warms, with a light botanical element and a very rounded body, proteins and starches and such. cool beer, not as cool as some of the other plant part ones they did this year, but a beer that drinks easy and feels fancy to me. i love these guys!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
