Scratch and Big Muddy collaboration! In the winter of 2017, Big Muddy visited Scratch to brew a batch of Dark Noon, its whiskey barrel-aged stout for the eclipse--on Scratch's system. We rocked a super hot wood fire in our copper kettle and boiled the beer with herbs from Scratch's woods and garden, before aging for over a year in a second use whiskey barrel with wild yeast and bacteria. The result is a wild, herbal version of Big Muddy's beer, appropriate for a blend of the two breweries' styles.
