#8 of 12.
These Steinbiers are brewed with dozens of wild herbs and spices and a variety of malts, hops, and yeasts, and this incredible variety was made to showcase the flavors that glowing hot granite rocks add to all styles of beer.
Swedish-style smoked ale mashed through eastern red cedar branches. Sugar Creek Malt’s malted rye and chocolate rye predominate the grain bill with rustic Såinnhus malt.

The smoke is more pipe tobacco around the campfire than meat and it's really strong throughout. There is also some peppery rye bread, minerals, and a hint of tart fruit. This is tickling me just right. Thanks FBarber!

This one was so smoky from the malt, it was a bit tough to get more of the "steinbeer" taste that I got from some of the others in this series. There is a nice chocolate-yness in the background.
