Either Culture's TIPA or Simtra really sets the bar for this category. Perfect balance, good malt backbone and a boatload of fresh Citra hops...I can drink this everyday! So far everything made by these guys is solid and the brewery is a real hidden gem up in North County SD....

Brewer says this is dry-hopped with Citra and Mosaic, plus another bittering hop in the boil. IBUs are rated at 120, although it's not as bitter to me as the Sculpins of the world. Flowery aromatics like orange blossom honey.
Hot, tangy, beautifully fragrant with the whole range of citrus and mango fruit flavors. Crazy alcoholic heat sends the hop acids right to the brain. Intense taste of something like Cointreau orange liqueur. Light malt flavor with some persistent sweetness. Quite bitter.
Golden amber color in the tulip glass with a handsome head and plenth of lacing. Definitely not one to gulp, but for sipping it's a great hop showcase. On tap at the brewery in Solana Beach.
