Poured from the 32 oz growler filled today at Culture's tasting room in OB. Clear golden amber in the Affligem chalice. Coarse head that slims down fast. Lots of carbonation in the mouth, though, and light bodied. Aroma is an intense pine. Oh, it's so bitter.
What is this flavor? I think of my wood-burning art kits as a child, that smoke wafting up. This is a real education in yet another hop. The aromatics, indescribable as they are, make the beer. But it's so bitter it's virtually undrinkable. This is yet another of the Curse of the Session IPA, the blisteringly overhopped light beer attacking the palate. I'll dose up a can of Summer Love with this.
