Golden amber color with plenty of foam in the snifter. Mouthfeel is bubbly and sharp. Flavor is more mellow than the typical Brut brew, but then it's stronger and even a little sweeter. Quite malty and robust but balanced by a persistent tangy acidity. IBUs are rated at 20, and there is just the hint of bitterness in the aftertaste, but plenty of leafy, hoppy flavors.
Delicious fruity flavors enhanced by the crisp sensation and dry finish. It's like a new variety of apple. This is an interesting variation-- almost a double IPA, but not the sweet and hugely hopped kind. Very suave and drinkable, but a real mouthful of malt. From the 32 oz growler filled at the Ocean Beach taproom.
