Bock beer is a rich, malty lager that began in Einbeck, Germany, and later won hearts in Bavaria. With smooth caramel notes, a cozy kick, and a name that sounds like “billy goat” in German, it’s no wonder the goat became its mascot. Strong, smooth, and full of character — Culture BAHHHCK! is coming back better than ever!

Handsome shade of dark chestnut brown, crystal clear, with long-lasting foam in the Aventinus Weizenstarkbier glass. Aromatic grainy nose. Rich and malty with a delicious sweet and caramel taste. That is followed by a scratch of hoppy bitterness, but just enough to go with the burnt sugar aftertaste. Toffee on the lips and coffee on the back of the tongue. Overall this is one of the better Bock-style brews and reminds me why I used to always try anything new from Culture. From the 32 oz crowler can purchased at the Encinitas tasting room.
