Selected on the recommendation of my server. The closest they had on tap to a WCIPA? I was expecting more bracing bitterness and classic piney aromas, but this is definitely a “new school” hop showcase. Lots of tropical notes.

In a state that is overwhelmed with hazy IPAs, this is a refreshing offering - no pun intended.
Appearance is absolutely on-point with you typical WCIPAs. Taste is piney, but could be MORE piney. Yet, the dryness picks up where the taste leaves off.
It has a long way to go in order to be an exceptional west coast, but in a land of NO WCIPAs and constant hype-chasing, this beer fucks.
I agree with what Jugs_McGhee said right below my review: “B / GOOD”

$6 a pint at PHP South.
Bursts with juicy fruity hop flavours yet retains impeccable balance. Its soft pale malt base never comes off too sweet. Hints of cool yogurty hop flavours. Floral hop notes. Some faint tropical fruit.
Acidic yet refreshing. Perfect carbonation. Smooth, wet, medium-bodied.
A remarkable IPA in a city that desperately needs one. Up there with Electric Jellyfish in terms of Austin's finest IPAs.
