A draught pour at the brewpub (Burnet location) is rather dear...$8 USD per 12 FL oz.

10%. DIPA. I surmise this is the same beer billed as "Oh Fuck Yeah" at the Lamar location. Brewed with Ekuanot (Equinox), Galaxy, and Mosaic hops. Batch 907.

Pours a murky dull copper...not horribly enticing. The ~1cm head succumbs to the high ABV inside 60 seconds.

AROMA is resinous and a bit rindy. Caramel malt is evident...maybe unnecessary Crystal too? Suggests an unrefreshing warm imperial IPA with a hum-ho hop profile. Not getting the blueberry that's Mosaic's signature. Any tropical fruit gets buried beneath that alcohol warmth.

TASTE: Caramalt meets scattered tropical fruits and sticky hop resins to decent effect, with alcohol warmth lurking as an undesireable undertone.

Not dialed in or well balanced, but it isn't the boozy mess it well could be.

TEXTURE: Warm. Unrefreshing. Full-bodied and heavy on the palate. Filling and weighty...not a very drinkable brew. Sticky.

Not astringent or gushed or anything, but its alcohol presence crowds the flavours they're after.

OVERALL: Steeply priced mediocrity from a brewery that should know better. Given the hops used, I at least expected a tropical fruit hop profile anchored by Mosaic's glorious blueberry flavour...this is more a Caramalt ridden murkily hopped alcohol delivery mechanism bereft of well showcased hops. PHP gets so much right bin their other hoppy beers...how did this go so wrong?
