This West Coast Pils was brewed with Hallertau Blanc, Sapphir, Crosby Strata, and YCH Amarillo hops. This hop-forward pilsner will win you over with its nice notes of clementine, jammy berry, and citrus zest.

Since renamed to Riata (which seems to have caused a lot of confusion on this site), its existence seems very odd. Not billing itself as a cold IPA or IPL but instead as a “west coast pilsner” despite its only ties to the Pilsner style seemingly being the inclusion of Hallertau hops (which are fairly buried in its aromatic hop profile) and its pale color. Its clean crisp finish is basically the only thing that indicates that it’s a lager rather than your standard (albeit still very good!) WCIPA. I’ll concede that its strange style billing was really the only reason I picked it up & from that perspective it makes sense why they’d make the decision to bill it like that… but it’s not distinct enough to really justify the decision to call itself a “west coast Pilsner.” Its a cold WCIPA. Good, very citrusy, very floral, very weak head that dissipates quickly.
