This was a new bier that they had at Cafe 't Pothuiske, so I opted to give it a try. A 0.33l bottle cost €3.95. Sampled on 01OCT14. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops, then dry-hopped with Saphir. Munich, Amber and Special B malts, and had 40 IBUs. Best before date of 05/2018.
Poured into a tulip, it was a very dark mahogany, nearly opaque. It was a touch cloudy, with an immense head. It started at about 3", towering over the rim. It was beige colored, and creamy and mousse-like, slowly sinking down. Nose was held back a bit, and displayed unexpected fruityness. It felt smooth, and the body was middle of the road.
Taste was also rather fruity. There was a bit of caramel, but more green apple, pear, and blueberry. What's up with that? It was then that I really took a hard look at the label and noticed it had blueberry extract amongst the ingredients, as well as some blueberries adorning the label. What's up with that? Not what I was expecting at all, and the Cafe menu did not indicate it had blueberries. Oh well.... Prosit!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
