Appearance - mahogany brown pour, like dark caramel. A thin light mocha head with a decent collar.
Aroma - light malt, mostly bourbon, very nice.
Taste - sweet and malty, bourbon hitting rather quickly. Great vanilla and oak presence without being overly boozy. Excellent flavor for 8%, intense but not heady. Great roasty aftertaste with a bit of coffee and chocolate syrup, the nuttiness of the malt playing perfectly with the barreling. Finishes with a light warmth.
Mouthfeel - medium bodied, decent flow and crispness.
Overall - outstanding brew. A big thanks to Pnut for recommending this one at the Prairie Bomb release. His hybrid Gnappy Bomb may be even better than either one on their own! Cheers!

Gnarly Brown which was aged in a 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrel
look - Very Dark beer with slight head. Leaves some lace but not much.
smell - As soon as I put my nose to the glass I could smell the bourbon and a slight wood smell. When I smell a little more I could smell some toastyness and a little caramel.
Taste - Sweet bourbon, nutty, caramel, toasty taste.
Feel - Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Light creaminess and super smooth.
Overall - I really like the Gnarly Brown but I think this makes the beer even better. Completely different then the original Gnarly brown due to the bourbon smell and taste which really sweetens the beer up and makes the beer a little more mellow. Loved the beer so much I had to get a second glass before the ran out.
