Coral in color, the blackberry aromatics give way to a semisweet yet acidic and tart flavor complimented by a slightly saltiness.

On tap at Thirsty's Oasis, served in a 20 oz glass.
Appearance: Your standard gose, pale straw with a decent white head. Seemed a tad on the hazy side.
Smell: There's hints of slightly mildewed wheat, and sea air. There's also hints of floral notes, which bodes ill for a gose. No fruit aroma to speak of.
Taste: And yep, that's definitely a hopped-up attempt at a gose. Floral perfume taste stampedes straight out of the gate and tramples every bit of salt and funk as it runs amok. I managed to finish the glass, but "managed" is the appropriate verb.
Mouthfeel: Your standard gose, light and lively.
Overall: I shouldn't have expected anything from MadTree but a hoppy beer, regardless of the billed style. The Listermann influence on this collaboration beer at least seems to have restrained them from their usual approach of putting 17 bushels of hops in a 2 bushel malt bill, but it's still a gose I would never repeat.

This is a Gose style beer brewed at Madtree Brewing in collaboration with fellow Cincinnati craft brewery Listermann ( http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/3474/ ).
It was marketed as a Blackberry Gose, but unfortunately, for me, this is neither quite Blackberry, nor Gose enough for my taste. I'd prefer both more Blackberry flavor, as well as more of that trademark saltiness that a Gose style beer should lend.
This beer is pleasant. Most people not familiar with Gose would probably enjoy this, and may in turn lead them to seek out a few other examples of the Gose style. But they'd probably also agree with me in saying this beer could use more Blackberry.
