1 PINT, 0.9 FLUID OUNCE bottle
Served in a sour glass
This beer pours a rosé color with burnt orange highlights. It is topped with an inch of tan head the disappears quickly.
The smell is tart cherry and lemon.
The taste is tart cherry. I don't pick up on the lemon as much in the taste as the smell. It has some vinous flavor.
Medium mouthfeel with low carbonation
It is a nice, mild sour. I like a little more pucker.

With the popularity of gose and berinerweiss sweeping the summer ale beerscape, its quite refreshing to get back to the roots of a more spontaneous, characterful, complex and well matured type of sour ale with all the nuances and variety in taste to not only become refreshing but also being charismatic.
Cherr Levanto pours the light mauve color of sparkling rosé wine. A creamy but dainty froth crowns the lightly hazy ale and carries a light cork must across copious cherry additions, a vinously tart scent, cider and citrus. Lightly weathered fruit brings an earthen perfume that's remiss of leather and hay before a moderately sweet taste of hard candy and sourdough.
The ale really takes off on the middle palate as the sweetness relaxes and the earthen perfume dissipates. What rises in their wake are the piquant and robust berry character of red cherries. Succulent, tangy and brightly acidic, the fruity bounces off of natural sour ale flavors of green apple, lime, lemon and grapefruit. Citrus peel extend into a bright bitterness that once again invites the taste of pepper, hay and brine.
Medium bodied and trending dry under the fleeting malts and rising acidity, the ale's finish is crisp, refreshing but pleasantly pungent and earthy once more. Again, a return of sourdough and damp burlap from the nose begins to decorate the late palate and aftertaste, bringing the beer full circle.
