From the growler via the brewery. This decent "scotch" ale pours a deep
muddled murky brown color with a nice head of off white khaki foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin wispy pool, a sports some very nice soapy lacing.
Nose of "thunder snow" spices of light nutmeg and subtle ginger with notes
of light smoked malts and brown sugars. Flavors follow the nose with an ample
dose of ginger and moderate notes of nutmeg that are tossed about a profile of
brown sugars and light smoked peat touched malts. Decent mouth feel; medium
body, medium low carbonation, and a lightly dry herbal finish.
Overall, it is decent, but the herb profile is a touch much. That said it beats most
of the pumpkin brews I have had, but I would bet the same flavors are in that as well.
Cheers
