El Dorado, Azacca, and Mosaic hops morph together to create incredibly juicy, tropical hop flavors. They crash into your palate like the smooth undulations of the incoming tide. Sip back and enjoy the ride.

12oz can from Tavour. Cloudy, dark golden with a nice creamy head. Light fruity aroma. Fruit gives way to hops on the taste, classic NW hoppiness. Fruit, tropical notes hang in the background. Bitterness lingers.

Imperial IPA brewed with El Dorado hops. Poured from a can into a MadTree snifter. The pour is light orange, hazy, and sports a two-finger crown of fine off-white foam. The nose is a little dank, a little perfumey, and a little fruity. I get notes of fresh bread, hemp, basil, lemon, grapefruit, and lavendar.
Medium body with a firm feel and a very dry flavor. It is sharp and hoppy from the get-go, but never seems out of balance. Lemon curd and wheat crackers up front, then apricot, more lemon, and herbal tea. Finishes bone dry with lingering flavors of lemon and tonic water.
Overall, a superb IIPA. I think I had tried it once before on tap and my impressions are the same: I like it better than Mosaic High, but not quite as much as Galaxy High or Citra High. I applaud MadTree for trying new versions of this beer once in a while without going too crazy with it. If they wanted to put 20 variants of this beer on the shelves, they know there are fans in this area (Cincinnati) who would seek out every darned one of them. Still, they want the "(BLANK) High" name to mean something. They try new variants, but they are well thought out and none of them has disappointed so far.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/6/2018. Pours very hazy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, red apple, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. A touch malty/muddy. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, red apple, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, red apple, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 9.5% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Awesome El Dorado, Azacca, and Mosaic profile. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced wheat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

I absolutely LOVE this Imperial India Pale Ale!
Wow...Just...WOW!
Bright, hoppy, light, citrusy...Tons going on in this beer.
For an Imperial, this could be a perfect beer-after-beer end to your day.
All the elements of perfect are in this one.
I would TOTALLY recommend this to ANYONE!

I bought a 6pck of this from the beer store just around the corner. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had citrus peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Mildly hazy, golden body capped with a dense, high-rising sculpted head; patches of sticky foam clinging to the glass sides. Great smell of pineapple and old lemon peel; mild caramel aroma. Lemon bread taste with a slight alcohol character; pine resin; bitter. Heavy body; velvety and prickly.
A rock-solid double IPA, thick and chewy with a tasty lemon and pine-like flavor.

On draft at the Rail in N. Olmsted, OH.
Clear light orange-white frothy head-nice spider webs of lacing.
Nice aromas of tropical, stone and citrus fruit.
Big pop of Dorado hops. A fruit basket in a glass. Malt is there but sits in the background letting the hops be the star. Delicious and tasty with no off flavors. Alcohol is well blended and goes unnoticed.
Smooth and medium bodied. Dangerously drinkable.
This was a pleasant surprise. Very well crafted and an absolute pleasure to drink. I will be seeking this one out in cans. Highly recommended.

A - Middle orange body, hazy, with a big white head, lots of lacing of scattered fine and large bubbles.

T - Following on the nose, with resin dankness, pineapple and lemon fruit, and a bitter sharp finish.
M - Moderate weight, decent carbonation, sharply dry finish.
O - Solidly built, a different hop experience from more typical fruit forward styles, with tasty flavor and good feel.
