This style usually gives good results. This one is more than just good, though, it is outstanding.
It pours bright yellow, hazed, and nice and foamy, especially for the style. The aroma is clean and not over funkified. It tastes not too dry or bitter, yet the massive malts used are well hidden and balanced. It sips nicely and gulps even better.
Highly recommended. It would be nice if they continued this line of experimentation or just made this permanent. This might be my favorite Madtree of all time.

There's always those times when we seem to be high on life. But high on hops? For the beer lover, it's one in the same. And, MadTree has a beer for that.
Caught in a pale golden haze, Hazy High teases the senses with a full-on tropical perfume that drifts boldly above a rich eggshell froth. With a background of citrus, cereal and peppery herbs lurking in the backdrop, the early taste favors the malts with a mild pastry breadiness and a sweetness of cereal, honeysuckle and shortcake.
Then as the ale rolls along, the middle palate is awaken by the full and succulent tropical taste of pineapple and mango all stemming from the hops. As the sweetness and starchy body starts to relax, the taste reveals a citrusy backbone of white grapefruit, orange and lemon. Trending smoothy bitter in its waning taste, the fruit flavors carry a botanical and herbal array of gin spice, cedar and lemon balm into the finish.
Medium full and trending perhaps more dry and more bitter than the usual New England styled IPA, this imperial version finishes with a spicy and slightly warming mouthfeel, seemingly of tea, gin botanicals and a peppery hit of curacao liquor. A medium long extension carries a resinous hop bite past the malt and outlasting all-things-smooth if only briefly.

I got a 4pck of this beer from my local beer store just around the corner. The beer poured a hazy dark orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had fresh bitter citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dank ripe fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Look - hazy darker orange tan with a nice head and skimming
Smell - faint tangerine
Taste - tangerine like the smell and easy going
Feel - full body creamy with a slight carb
Overall - could use more taste and smell but still good

Yup ... MadTree makes a delicious imperial IPA ... Not really sure why they don't just pick one and run with it rather than roll out these slightly different yet completely yummy seasonal varieties ... Regardless, it is excellent and should be found and consumed!

Canned on 10/23/20. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden; creamy off-white head that fades leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have some tropical fruits along with some crackers. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. More tropical fruit leading the way. Some coconut and pineapple leading the way. Hints of grapefruit in the mix. Some damp grass. Nice little bitterness for the style. Mild sweetness. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy. Alcohol is ultimately well hidden. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's slick, sharp, smooth and dangerously drinkable.
This is a pretty nice "Hazy Imperial IPA". Nice flavors. It's big and bold while remaining balanced. The craftsmanship is on point. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. Well done. I really like it.
