Smooth, candied and soft on the palate, MadTree's research in hoppy beer leads them through the weeds of Citra Mosaic and El Dorado hops with a bevy of cereal grains and fruit-generating yeast for a unique but comforting New England-styled IPA.
Pale gold and held in a basic matte finish, TreeSearch No. 05 leads in with a frothy eggshell froth. A juicy perfume of orange, lime, berry, mango and herb greet the nose in a most citronella fashion. With a sweet and soothing upstart, the creamy sweetness of cereal, honey and pastry lays a firm grain foundation early on.
As the hops penetrate the grains, the tropical flavors of pineapple, mango and passionfruit carry a sweeter, branch-riped and candied effect to only embolden its succulence. In much the same fashion, so do the citrus flavors of orange, red grapefruit and lime. With a smooth and balancing bitterness, a late palate sees hints of blackcurrant and papaya while the taste turns herbal with hemp, green tea and sassafras.
Medium-full in body, the creaminess of the experimental ale holds on to deliver an extended cereal sweetness on the tongue while the beer finishes malty-dry and with a moderate sprucy bitterness. A fruity and herbal aftertaste carries nuances of gin-like botanicals, hemp and fresh grassiness into a medium-long linger.

Madtree is a great local Brewer and this is a good example of the great stuff they put out regularly ... It hits all the high notes of a quality hazy IPA ... Find it, buy it, drink it
