MadTree's IPA's are usually so vibrant in hop character that they have us seeing colors. But now they have us seeing hazy. Accented with more tropical tasting hops give this IPA added brightness.
Pouring a fairly standard cloudy goldenrod, Tropical Hazy version of Seeing Colors awakens the senses with a citrusy, tropical and stone fruit scent laced with herbal botanicals. Sweeter in taste, the early palate kicks off with cereal grain, honey malts and an overall character of shortbread. Hops come alive as the ale hits the middle palate, shifting into orange, grapefruit and peach with a more tropical overcast of pineapple, mango and passionfruit before fading into a semi-dry finish of fresh cut grasses, spruce, peppery greens and hemp.
Medium bodied malty-dry and slightly more bitter than sweet, the session shifts the hazy flavors slightly toward the tropical flavors but leaves the palate wanting more succulence, juiciness and zest.

Pours bright yellow, mostly opaque. Great lacing. Nose is very light and citrusy, flavor follows. No distinct fruits, and for sure not tropical fruits. Overcarbonated for a hazy. Not a fan. Ugh, the second and third sips were even worse.
