The subtle malt backbone combats the bitterness and intensity of floral, grassy and citrus hop flavors. However, taste is perception. What's your slant?

12 oz can. About 3 weeks old. Paid $10 for a 6 pack
A - Mostly clear. A golden, hazy, morning pee color (sorry). Fairly frothy head with moderate lacing.
S - Definitely some citrus. I would say grapefruit. Floral hops, and a sweet malt.
T - Bitter hops up front. Floral and very grassy. I imagine kind of what my yard might taste like in a blender (not entirely bad). Followed by a sweet bready taste. Bitter again on the back side with a grapefruit punch.
F - Pretty thin body. A bit watery. Maybe. Average carbonation. Slick oily finish.
O- A bit disappointed by this highly regarded IPA. Not super balanced. A lot of high and low points. A solid palate wrecker. Maybe I have had too many of Ohio's IPAs that taste like doubles/imperials... Not a bad beer at all, very good, but this may likely be my only purchase with White Rajah all around.

My first time trying a Madtree brew. The color is lighter than I would expect for an ipa. I'm not getting a lot of hops on the nose or the palate. It was canned on 10/31/24 which may be why the hops are subtle. Heavy citrus with bitterness and slight hops on the finish. I would love to try this one fresh on tap.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a mostly clear, just very slightly cloudy/hazy, medium golden color with a nice white head that's about an inch thick when first poured. Settles to a nice thick film layer surface coating along with a thick ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer's surface and excellent lacing. Aromas of some bready, slightly zesty, malts followed by some piney, slightly citrusy, herbal, floral hop notes. An extremely similar flavor profile, with the bready, slightly zest malts w/ just a hint of caramel sweetness that gives way to the aforementioned piney, citrus, floral, and herbal hop notes that give this a nice hop profile with the different flavors all complimenting each other nicely that give a good amount of bitterness. The flavor profile is well balanced though, as the different hop flavors all compliment each other nicely. Has a crisp, yet also smooth and somewhat frothy, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish. A good beer overall.

Updated review, gifted anothe can. Poured from can into tulip good 1 finger cream colored head, recedes to 1/2 finger and hangs around a while. Cloudy golden in the glass, no floaties. Citrus, pine and slight caramel sweetness on the nose. Taste matches, dank pine on the front (can is on the tail end of its life), more like a ripe pineapple, good citrus.
Slight sweetness in the middle and finishes with a really crisp dryness. Nice old school drinker, love the finish on this beer

This mid-level west coast IPA is piney, dank, floral, and has some nice citrus notes.

This is definitely an above average IPA unfortunately there's also a huge chunk of those in this country too. I'm not surprised this isn't selling too well right now but honestly I would recommend.
