Pregaming the annual Beer & baseball trip hard because we just haven’t learned our lesson yet. Usually, it’s just 2 days of play, but we went large doubling down this year and will be road worn & well wiped out by the time we meet up with the talls tomorrow. Louisville & Indy faded behind us; Cleveland, Ann Arbor, & Detroit in the distance ahead. And this our day in between. Cincy morning Monday and all the chili joints out of commission for the Labor Day holiday (what the locally sourced fuck?!?), so we pivot as we do. I guess day drinking will begin in the AMs and not the PMs, is all…
Massive standalone facility a good way out of town. Through the outside penned area and in. Damn, it’s a large open space. On the forward wall where we’ll be, a brushed steel topped ‘C’ shaped bar, wide horizontal plank base, & a phat phoot bar. Seating for 2 dozen or so on cushioned steel chairs. Barback holds a row of 16 logo’d handles on stainless to both sides of center and a 3 tap stand up on the outer ends. Hooked slat board pieces above done up all colorful list their many drinakable options to both sides of a center flatscreen. Draft beer options to one side (beer, style, ABV, IBU sometimes but not alltimes, & cost for the serving size glass), and everything else listed to the other side (Sway canned Vodka Sodas, Craft Cocktails, Cider, Wine, THC Beverages, Non-Beer, Non-Alcoholic, & Mocktails). Something for anyone who drinks something.
Concrete floors, corrugated ceiling with spinnys, ducts, suction cup lamps, & hanging sprawling fern action. I-beam pillar uprights and crossbeams. Gray & mustard walls, a trio of roll up doors to the rear with bar counter ledges fronting, the brewery in a giant hanger space on one end behind glass, and an open kitchen at the other end. Another section with a logo piece on a wall of plants & ferns. Caging over the bar with pear filament bulbs. Flats and light art. Merch zone there (me, pointing). 2 dozen tables riddled about high & low, shared & not.
Side room overflow and/or event space off the entranceway with seating, a half dozen more tables down the corridor past the kitchen, and a giant room on the far for larger events. And the aforementioned outdoor space. On the inside wall under awning, another ‘C’ shaped bar seating 2 dozen or so, with the taps on the barback fed from the inside with smaller roll up doors to close it up when it’s time to shut it down. Otherwise, 4 dozen tables umbrella’d or beneath sun shades strung (or both), and a few fire pits, bordered to the front by an old brick outer wall with window cuts. It’s a pretty boss set up.
23 beers, the list broken out by category; Hoppy (PsycHOPathy, IPA, 6.9%; Tropical Psychopathy, IPA w/Passionfruit, Orange, & Guava, 6.9%; Citra High, DIPA, 9.5%; Phantom Forest, Juicy DIPA, 8%; Seeing Colors, Hazy IPA, 6.5% Double Seeing Colors, Double Hazy IPA, 8.8%; PSA, Proper Session Ale, 4.5%; True Search #13, Hazy IPA, 6.3%), Light & Crisp (Legendary Lager, 4.2%; Aluminum Park, Rice Lager, 4.9%; Coffee Table, Blonde Ale w/Coffee & Lactose, 4.7%; Firefly Nightlight, Citrus Wheat w/Coriander, 4.9%; Appaloosa, Farmhouse Ale, 6.6%), Malty (Happy Amber, 6%; Ziegler, Oktoberfest, 5.7%; Shady Lynx, Czech Dark Lager, 4.6%; Eredal’s Wake, Imperial Oatmeal Coffee Stout, 9.2%; Pumcan, Pumpkin Spiced Ale, 7.9%; Nitro Pooka, Dry Irish Stout, 4.5%), Brewer’s Choice (St Markovia Abbey Ale, Belgian Dubbel, 7.4%; New Perspective, Dark Saison, 5.5%), and Tart (Shade, Blackberry Tart Ale, 4.6%; Cactus Kiwi, Tart Fruit Ale w/Prickly Pear & Kiwi, 4.3%).
Shady Lync Czech Dark Lager, well it didn’t taste like one, totally bummed because that style is my jam; PsycHOPathy IPA, thankfully not a hazy, citrus, piney, a hair more malt forward than I prefer, but tasty; Appaloosa Farmhouse Ale, solid, good fruity esters; St Markovia Abbey Ale, Belgian Dubbel, dry, plumy, very nice; Ziegler Oktoberfest, bready, grainy, toasted malt, not bad; Cactus Kiwi Tart Fruit Sour w/Prickly Pear & Kiwi, nicely tart, good pucker on that one! I’m thinking Appaloosa Farmhouse Ale, St Markovia Abbey Ale, & Cactus Kiwi for the wins.
Oh, hey kitchen, what’s up? I see you there. Nah nah, you stay there, we’ll come to you. Davo opted for the Cincy Pizza which was tasty but not the easiest thing to eat, and I had the wood fired jerked spice dry rub wings and an Arugula salad with chicken, both of which were very good.
Chill house this Monday now early afternoon. Was just the place for a beers (plural) and a bite. And I must add…. A great environmental foot print here. Waste composting, spent grain sent to feed local livestock, 100% solar & wind powered, carbon offsets, ‘toss a buck to plant a tree’ rack, employees volunteering for non-profits, PakTech recycling, a zero-waste taproom, and more. All that which makes this old garbageman’s heart swell. Well done, folks.

Visited on a weekday around 6pm. A huge place with outdoor space as well but enough parking. A large selection of styles. Something for everyone. The service was spotty at times but it was busy. As far as I was aware, service was only at the bar. Definitely one of those breweries that you need to visit more than once to ensure you have a broad enough tasting.

it's great. Is outside of Cincy in a swanky up and coming area. Huge place with plenty of bar seats and outdoor seating. The selection and quality of the beer was fantastic....32 taps present. The service was fine...but hard to know for sure and it was busy. They had pizzas available....which were excellent.

New tap room off of Madison Ave. sports giant open seating and a decent
selection of brews that go from moderately hoppy to heavily hopped with
some spiced beers that beat the rhythm on a single chord. Great service
with friendly bartenders and an attached wood fired pizza and sandwich shop
called Catch A Fire Cafe that flat out ROCKED and would deserve a 4.5 for food
if not a 4.75. That alone made it worth the trip. Place fills up fast so get there
early. Beautiful brew works behind the glass is worth seeing.
Check them out hop heads!
Cheers

Madtree 2.0. Beautiful huge facility! Lots of different areas to hang out and socialize. Lots of different beer. It was crowded but the service kept up and flowed well. They have food but I did not eat. Dog friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking was a bit of a challenge, just go prepared.

I am very particular about craft brews. With this brewery, I have found that I love their LIFT. I am not much of a fan of any of there other beers, but the place is FANTASTIC.
UPDATE: They have moved to a BIGGER location across the street from where I work. Personally, I think the new place is too big. BUT..................since they are so popular, I have room to move around.

Nice place with pretty good selection. The beers are rather creative and their sours are actually excellent (I am not a fan of Sours and enjoyed them). Good selection and service. Community seating so you get in to conversations with strangers which is always fun. Definitely worth a visit if you are in town and want to hit up a brewery.

While visiting Cincinnati i researched the local breweries in the area and ubered my way over to Mad Tree Brewing. Overall an impressive Brewing company. The service and tap selection is very good. I also believe Mad tree is highly underrated and would highly recommend a visit to this brewing company.

Very cool brewery located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It always seems to be busy. It's a large space with lots of seating, but space for bar stools around the main bar is very limited, so don't expect to ever have a shot to pull up to the bar in a stool unless you're there during soft hours on a weekday. Or ever, really. A good sized outdoor patio out back is nice also, and they usually have cornhole or some other yard game available to play.
They keep a nice selection of their own brews on tap. Often some brewery only stuff as well which is always a treat. If you find yourself looking to visit a brewery in Cincinnati, this place should be top on your list in my opinion.

Very open and airy place when I went in, on a nice 75 degree day with a nice cool breeze. There were shirts and to go beers for sale (both cans and different size containers), and around 20 beers on tap to choose from. Prices were reasonable, and you could order varying sizes. They had a pizza serving area, with specialty pizzas that looked good but we didn't have time to try one. The service was great, the people were attentive and willing to answer any questions. Out on the patio there was seating and corn hole. A great chill hang out spot, wish I lived closer.
