Baranof Island Brewing

215 Smith St
Sitka, Alaska, 99835-9810
United States
// CLOSED //
Starting from a 10 gallon homebrew system to supply ale to thirsty locals in Sitka AK, we have grown through two expansions to our current 7 BBL system with a third in the works. We produce six house brews and regularly put out new seasonal specialties along with fresh batches of seasonal favorites from years past. We distribute to most every beer selling business in town, extensively in the state of Alaska and are pushing into Washington and other lower 48 markets as rapidly as quality production allows.

What an exceptional brewery. Great place to get away. You can step out and see wild life or back to town in less than a minute.
Beer has great flavor, color and goes down good. Staff are friendly with all of your needs. Patio adds space for outdoor fun as well. If your on a cruise ship get to Baranof to get some great beer.
For you non-beer drinkers they had a Ben’s Brew that is root beer and that is good too!

Truly THE place to go in Sitka. It's even better if you walk from downtown through the totem pole park with all the huge trees and cross the trail bridge to where you're suddenly back in the modern world on Sawmill Creek Rd. Just go a little further south and east and turn away from the bay into the industrial area.
Jolly staff, folks from all over, and several interesting beers on tap. Loved the salmon spread with pretzels. They are the usual styles (blonde, brown, black, red) but well made and not overpriced for this part of the world. My favorite was the Sitka Spruce Tip ale.
Bring your backpack as they have 22 oz bottles to take home or back to the ship.
