Dry malt, some notes of caramel. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Not very complex, but a solid Scottish ale.

Drinking this at the Raleigh Brewing, on tap poured into a pint glass.
Appears amber brownish
Smells sweet, caramel.
Tastes sweet, caramel.
Mouth feel is medium, light with a slightly dry finish.
Very good for the style I thought, but I'd probably order a different beer next time.

Very good. Lots of malt character. One of my favorites from Raleigh.

Poured a light brown body with good head and lace and a mild aroma of roasted and caramel malts, some other sugary goodness I can't quite pinpoint. This beer is thick and heavy, a sipper, sweeter than other versions of this style as there really aren't any hops or dark fruits to speak of, and the roasted/bread malt tastes for balance are there only in spurts and mainly on the backend. I like this beer because I like sweet beers, not for everyone though, as the main flavors in this beer are caramel, toffee, some other sugary flavors that could be syrup or molasses and then just hints of figs, raisins, toffee.

Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, opaque, brown coloring with ruby highlights and a clingy, white head. Nose of tangy caramel, thistle, and subtle candy sugar. Flavors are supersweet and rich, with a roasted caramel backbone and floral highlights. Deep, layered profiles. Smooth, robust body, with a tangy sweet, roasted aftertaste. The finish is smooth, with a subtle, roasted sweet linger.
